︎INFO

Lichens CitiSci* is a community science project that engages publics around critical issues impacting public lands using lichens as air quality biomonitors.

We are currently funded through the USFS CitiSci Fund grant program which encourages collaborative approaches for resource management through meaningful involvement with the public on their public lands.

We would like to thank our partners, the United States Forest Service, the California Lichen Society, and Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center.

*Our name stemmed from our original funding source, the USFS CitiSci Fund. We actively choose to use the term “community” in place of “citizen” because we recognize the opportunity to be more inclusive and equitable with our language.
